Callie Torres and Cristina Yang are moving into their new apartment together.  Erica Hahn is there to help Callie and Meredith Grey is there for Cristina, but they both admit that Erica is scary.  Erica finds a moment with Callie and asks her out on a date . . a real normal date.  Callie is a little apprehensive, but excited too and she accepts.   

Later at the hospital Callie is having cold feet.   When Erica comes to confirm the time, Callie gives her an "out" if she needs to reschedule, but Erica assures she has reservations and is definitely on.  Callie still needs someone to talk to, though.  She finds herself prepping for surgery and alone with Miranda Bailey.  She begins to nervously spout off her fears to Miranda, "It's awkward. Because she's a colleague and because she's an attending and because she's a ... she. There's been kissing, but ... no touching and what if I'm not into it? What if I'm horrible at all that stuff... south. I've never been south of the border. With a female. I mean, I've never even been over the ... northern mountains, if you know what I'm saying."  For the first time ever, Bailey is completely speechless, mouth gaping wide, trying to take this in.  Realizing her discomfort, Callie tries to take it back and leaves the room.  Bailey is left completely stunned.  She is again uncomfortable as she catches Erica Hahn smiling at Callie as she gets on the elevator in the hallway.  Bailey is stunned, confused and trying to make sense of this whole thing.  

Bailey musters the courage and corners Callie in a quiet room.  Refusing to let her say anything and explaining that she does not talk about sex to anyone, she begins, "The va-jay-jay is undiscovered country. It is the mother land. You've never traveled there... You don't know its customs and ways. Now me? I've always wanted to go to Africa. But if I go, I'm going to have to learn a few things first. I'm going to have to prepare. I'll need shots. Bring my own syringes, in case something goes wrong. And I'll wanna know how to get to the embassy."  Callie is completely confused by the end of it all.  Trying to cut to the chase, Bailey tells her "Just talk about it! Not with me. With the other one.."  Not everyone has a taste for all types of cuisine, you try it first to see what suits you.  

At the end of the day, Callie's still nervous, but willing to face her fear.  She walks into the restaurant for her date and announces that "We need to have rules." Including an "embassy," and a "safeword," and she rambles on until now Erica is also confused.  She finally explains that she's not sure she's ready to go below the belt.  "Me neither," Erica responds,  "Let's just take it slow."  She suggests just going to first base tonight.  She decides to give Callie a minute to go over the menu and relax when Callie suggests, "maybe second base, too." Callie and Erica agree there is plenty of uncharted territory above the belt and continue on with the date.
