7 "Physical Attraction. . .Chemical Reaction"
Mark Sloan Picks Up on Erica Hahn

You gotta love a man who thinks so highly of himself that he seems confused when (or if) he ever gets rejected. I giggle to myself every time I try to picture these two together. Mark Sloan makes a pass at Erica Hahn at Joe's and she politely tells him, "not a chance." She tells him he's attracted to her skill, not to her and refuses to let him buy her a drink. You'd think this was the first time anyone ever rejected Mark Sloan. He looked utterly shocked. If this is a trick to get him to keep after her I think it might work. After all, Mark is not a man who takes "no" for an answer. I'll thoroughly enjoy watching him pursue her, but I have to admit, I don't think she's attractive enough for him. I guess we'll see. This goes to show that the it's all in the thrill of the chance. Maybe this is exactly what Mark needs to actually start caring for someone. The guy only wants what he can't have!

Lexie Grey Gets Rejected

lexie grey confronts alex karev

Lexie has another run-in with Meredith Grey while trying to meet up with Alex. Meredith tells Lexie off and says she needs to get her "own friends" and stay out of her life. I still have a hard time imagining Lexie Grey having "no strings" sex, but she tries to get Alex Karev to meet her in the on-call room later and he actually rejects her. He says he doesn't want to be in the middle of her and her sister. As unusual as it seems for Alex to turn down a fling, he's not quite cut out for being in the middle of an argument either. I don't blame Lexie for being a little upset by this, especially when her sister stops talking to her when they were finally starting to make some headway.

meredith grey and alex karev at joes
They all end up at Joe's and after Lexie passes out, Alex tells Meredith that he's broken things off with Lexie. Meredith kind of understands she's being a jerk at this moment and tells Alex to take Lexie home. When Alex takes Lexie home, he sees that things are not all well there. Lexie's (and Meredith's) dad is a drunk-and a lousy one at that . Lexie makes Alex promise not to tell her half-sister. While I'm not surprised that he's a drunk, and I know that this sounds kind of mean, I hope that this is a bridge for Lexie and Meredith to find understanding with one another. Meredith thinks that Lexie has had such a perfect life with their father and a complete family. That will change if and when she ever finds out.

Callie Torres Loses the Chief Residency

callie torres over rail

With all of the personal drama going on (her husband cheating on her and all) Callie is seriously falling behind on her Chief Resident duties. Miranda Bailey is tired of it not getting done, so she starts picking up some of the slack and trying to "help" a little bit. Well, it's only a matter of time before Richard Webber, Chief of Surgery, figures out that Miranda's doing all the work and Callie is really not working out too well. Great news for Bailey because this position is all she really wanted anyways. Her exact quote was "It's about time you noticed." I almost wonder if Bailey just did it despite Callie-she knew she'd get credit for the work. She made it too obvious. Every time Chief caught her, Miranda pretended to play stupid and say, "I don't know, ask Dr. Torres." Then he'd try to ask Callie and she was always "busy" with a surgery. It was inevitable, but I'm still a little sad that Callie didn't come in and rock the house. I was hoping to see Bailey get rocked when Callie stepped up, but I guess it's not going to happen.

Izzie Stevens and George O'Malley Get Frustrated

george omalley and izzie stevens

Isobel Stevens and George O'Malley, finally together. . . .seriously?. . . .as for the sex-not so much together. Now that Callie knows about George and Izzie and has given up on it, the two are finally able to get together. They do, but no matter what they try they just don't seem to be making it together in the sack. Each remembers it being "so" good when they had the one nighter and now. . . what? I knew this would happen ( or at least I thought it)! It makes me uncomfortable watching these two trying to get it on. They try everything (and I do mean everything) including trying it drunk again, attempting to lie about how good it is, and it just ain't happenin'. In some ways, I think that they are just trying too dang hard. Sleeping with someone just isn't meant to be so plotted out, plus there is way too much anticipation with a lot of room for let down and disappointment. After all the relationship stress they've gone through in breaking up his marriage, I'm frustrated that they can't get it together. They love each other as friends, so I think they need to let that build and grow into a physical relationship before they can go any further. Really, I'd like to see George and Callie Torres back together, but I really have no clue where they're headed with this whole thing. I have no idea who he'll end up with at this point.
