| Izzie Stevens Redeems Herself (A Little) |
|
Finally, I didn't hate Izzie Stevens this episode. She finally stepped up and took on a tough cardio surgery (and rubbed it in Cristina Yang's face, too). I was so glad when instead of trying to save another deer, she actually used her talents to her own advantage. She's really good with patients and needs to give herself more credit than she does. I like to see her with a little more back bone and confidence in herself. After their night of adulterous sex, Izzie is really excited to get with George O'Malley, too. I'm no so sure about it. It still just sounds weird to me. I hope they work it out, but I'm not sure if I'm excited or scared for it. I just want to know if it's going to work or not. After all that they've been through, all the drama, all the hurt for Callie, I just hope it all pays off.
I was really happy when Callie Torres got some payback with making George hold on to a dress all day. There is a contest for a wedding dress going on and whoever lets go of the dress first loses. These two future brides are all messed up from fighting each other all day. It's really pretty sad because each girl has a pretty good reason to want it. When the one has to let go of the dress to have medical procedures performed, Callie suggest George stand in as a proxy. So he's stuck in a room all day holding on to a dress to help the girls win the contest. I suppose crazier things HAVE happened. It was nice to see how awkward things got when Izzie came in to talk to George "in confidence" only to find that that would mean in front of his patients.
So what is the deal with Erica Hahn? Is she supposed to be "just one of the guys?" She kinda muscles her way into hanging out with the guys when Chief suggests they have a "gentleman's evening." I kinda wonder where they are going with her (other than to make Cristina's life miserable). I wonder if she'll get to hook up with someone or not? If so, who do you think she'll be with? I have to admit, I was seriously laughing at those guys. Mark Sloan and Derek Shepard spend the entire episode trying to imagine what Chief meant by a "gentleman's evening". I'm sure you all, as I did, watched just laughingly knowing that they were way off-imagining strip clubs and things. I knew that good old-fashioned Chief just wanted to hang out, he didn't really have anything fancy in mind. Then to top it off, Hahn is there. I was tickled to see them all playing Monopoly together at the end. So normal, so real for all these people who can't get their love lives together. I got a kick out of the whole thing.
