2 "Love/Addiction"
Cristina Yang Hides From Mama Burke

cristina hides from mama burke

Now to my ultimate favorite part so far. Mama! Oh, MAMA. I loved Mama Burke so much I can't even tell you. She just laid the smack down on everyone today. How does one woman from outside the story know so much? She has a handle on everyone and everything. I wish she could be on the show every week just to kick some butt around. She manages to put Meredith Grey in her place with her "It's so over" comments at the wedding (which were inappropriately selfish). She gives George O'Malley the guilt he deserves at this point for cheating on his wife. She inspires Derek Shepard to want more out of a relationships (which bums me out because now he'll be harder on Meredith). Then she turns around and handles Cristina beautifully. You expect her to just be mean to Cristina and take it out on her that she ruined her son's wedding, but instead she basically tells her that she is a strong capable woman and now she can get back to the part of her she loves-being a surgeon. I think that was exactly the closure that Crisitina Yang needed for her to get over Burke and get refocused to her work like she really wants anyways. And besides, she takes all the wedding gifts away that were driving Cristina absolutely mad in the house. Somehow, Mama just knew exactly what everyone needed to hear. It's too bad she can't be there all the time to put these doctors in their place when they need it. Thank you Mama for making my week and giving me a new favorite episode.

Miranda Bailey Makes Callie Torres' Job Dififcult

Bailey and Torres

I totally thought that Callie Torres deserved the position as Chief Resident at the end of last season, but there is so much disappointment now in the "Chief's" choice. Callie was my strong competitor from behind that just snuck right up and snatched it from Miranda Bailey, but now. . . .what? Bailey has been making it very obvious that Torres is not cut out for the job. She won't help her earn the residents' respect and isn't going around bossing them around like she usually does. This leaves Callie trying to juggle all her surgeries while trying to keep the residents' "drama" out of the workplace. So far, she didn't do too hot this episode. Bailey rolls me in the aisles with her attitude ( you go girl!) Poor Callie hasn't got a chance without Miranda on her team. She's so stressed about her marriage (valid enough) that she just doesn't seem to "be there" this episode. Like she's in outer space somewhere. Can't wait to see how it plays out.
