After trying so hard to be like Erica Hahn and Cristina Yang - knowing what she wants and being all about the surgery not the patient - finally Izzie Stevens realizes she just can't be that person. She says, "I'm not Kickass." As Isobel spills her guts to George O'Malley, he tells her that it's a good thing to be the way she is. I'm frustrated that Izzie thinks she has to be like someone else or have what someone else does to be happy. Just be yourself, already. They switch to talking about they're relationship and agree that it is just bad timing. I guess it's over then??? You don't break up a marriage to have things not work out do you? This is so frustrating for me. George needs a good woman and Izzie needs to stop wanting what everyone else has. Seriously.
Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang meet back at the house to drink and dance together. Meredith is a little put off that Cristina invites Lexie along, but soon accepts it. (Maybe they'll be like sisters after all) George and Izzie join in with the festivities. After all, they don't have anything better to do now that they're not worrying about the sex anymore. more from this episode. . . |

Derek Shepard is in surgery, as usual, when he gets placed in a very precarious position. The computer crashes mid-surgery and he is left "blind," unable to see where the probe is in the woman's brain. The computer tech is five hours away, but (ironically) Rose, the hot nurse he is noticing, has taken some classes in the area. She tries to fix it, but her hands are too shaky. Derek help her with his steady hands and after remembering to push the restart button, the computer is back up and running. After surgery, Derek talks with Rose, thanks her for saving the day, and they kiss (NOOOOOOOO!). I just hate to see it.
Later, Meredith Grey finally works up the courage to tell him that she doesn't want him to date other people. (Too bad it appears to be too late, already:() She refuses to let him respond until the next day. She's so proud of herself for actually working up the nerve to say it, that she doesn't want Derek to "ruin it." I fear for the worst-they are so not going to make it, but they'll get back together eventually, right??? Meanwhile, Rose appears to have earned a spot with McDreamy. But will he ever be able to love her like he's loved Meredith ? more from this episode. . . |

We left Lexie Grey last episode with her hand in a young man's neck (Seth Green) trying to keep him from bleeding to death. She can't move, but he manages to reach a phone and hand it to Lexie, who is able to call the nurses at the station. There is soon a wild commotion to help him, but Mark Sloan, his plastic surgeon, can't find an O.R. to operate on him. After all her hard work, they lose the patient.
Meanwhile, back in Alex Karev's surgery, he keeps looking up at Ava in the gallery. Mark Sloan notices and tells him "he's so busted." While distracted, there is a complication with the surgery and Alex is caught off guard. Erica Hahn is able to patch up the heart and the patient ends up okay, but Alex gets very upset at Ava for being there. He tells her he's been sleeping with Lexie, who she sat next to and told her she shouldn't have said he was her boyfriend, because he's not. He throws back in Ava's face that "at least [Lexie] isn't married with a baby" and tells her she shouldn't be there. Not exactly the nicest way to get through to a girl, but maybe she'll believe him and let go. more from this episode. . . |
