Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery, music producer, reportedly met at a grocery store in Los Angeles through mutual friends. They started dating 6 months later. On dating Chris says, "one night she just looked different to me." They've been dating ever since. The two actually lived 10 miles apart in Boston, Massachussetts where the two grew up. Ellen says, "I had to fo 3,000 miles away to meet a guy sho practically grew up next door." The couple was engaged in November of 2006. The couple decided that they didn't want a big thing for a wedding and said they'd probably just go off somewhere and do it. They were married almost a year later on Nov. 7, 2007. The couple got married in New York City Hall by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. It was a brief ceremony but those present said it was perfect. Commenting later on their union, Ellen says, "We're blessed" and Chris tells the press, "I'm the real McDreamy." The two are reported to be very happy together. Ellen Pompeo calls accusations of her having an eating disorder 'irresponsible.' She says that she doesn't have a problem, she's just naturally slim. In an interview she said, "I just worry about the girls who look up to me . . . I don't want them to think I starve myself or don't eat, and that to be like me that's what they have to do." She further said, "What are we doing to this younger generation? We're so focused on the wrong things. We're teaching young girls that this is what they should eb focusing on: rich and famous girls who are rich and famous to nothing." (alluding to girls like Paris Hilton and Nichole Ritchie).
