Katherine was born on November 24, 1978 in Washington, D.C.  She started in modeling as a child earning $75 an hour. Eventually she got into commercials (one was Cheerios) and in 1992 she had her movie debut in "That Night."  She was still modeling amidst her acting in magazines like "Seventeen."  She has now been nominated for a Golden Globe and has received a Emmy Award for her performances in Grey's Anatomy.  She was also voted "Most Desirable Woman of 2008" by askmen.com and was on Barbara Walters list of "The 11 Most Fascinating People," to which Katherine insists she is "quite boring. . .not just kidding, but really."

Heigl got some negative media after she called her movie, "Knocked Up," a "little sexist." She says the film "paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys."  Heigl has been a known proponent of women's rights and is considered a feminist.  After numerous accusations of being a "hypocrite" (among other things) Heigl said that she stands behind her views and encourages women not to takke the movie too seriously and remember that its a comedy.  She again recieved numerous criticisms of her recent movie "27 Dresses" as many critics feel that she has much more to offer as an actress than this role allowed.

Katherine Heigl married singer, Josh Kelley, in December of 2007 in Park City, Utah.  They now live in Los Feliz, CA.
