Patrick Dempsey was born on January 13, 1966 in Lewiston, Maine. He grew up in Turner, Maine. He attended his first three years on high school at Buckfield High School and was transferred to St. Dominic Regional High School his senior year. He dropped out before finishing. An adept juggler, he tied for second place in a nationaly juggling competition before taking on his first rose in the stage production "Torch Song Trilogy". He then toured with "Brighton Beach Memoirs" followed by many other movie and TV roles. Before landing the role of Derek Shepard on Grey's Anatomy, he actually auditioned for the part of Dr. Gregory House on the hit FOX TV show House. Patrick reportedly was involved in an argument in Ocotber 2006 with Isaiah Washington (who played Preston Burke) behind the scenes of Grey's Anatomy. The argument reportedly became a physical altercation and is said to have started when Isaiah called T.R. Knight (who plays George on the show) a "faggot." He was nominated for a Golden Globe for this role and has recieved a Screen Actor's Guild Award along with the entire cast of the show. He also is currently spokesperson for Mazda and a model for Versace. His first marriage was in 1987 to acting coach, Rochelle "Rocky" Parker. Dempsey was 21 and Parker was 48 with a son who was a year older than Patrick. They divorced in 1994. He is now married to Jillian Fink, make-up artist and founder of Delux Beauty. They were married on July 31, 1999 and have three children - Tallullah born Feb. 20, 2002 and twins Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick born Feb. 1, 2007. Patrick really enjoys racing. He has driven the pace car in The Indianapolis 500. He has also raced in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. He is the co-owner of Indy Car Series team Vision Racing. Eric Dane was born on November 9, 1972 in San Francisco, California. After performing in a high school production, he decided to pursue acting. He relocated to Los Angeles for his career and had several small TV roles before signing on to Gideon's Crossing, folowed by Charmed where he had a two season run. His first feature film was "The Basket" in 1999. He was given one episode ("Yesterday") on Grey's Anatomy and a very positive audience reaction, they brought him on for Season 3. How can we ever forget his first episode of the season where he comes out wearing a very precariously placed towel. Eric Dane was briefly involved in 2001 with Lara Flynn Boyle. He was later married to Rebecca Gayheart on October 29, 2004. He is also close friends with Balthazar Getty (of Alias and Brothers and Sisters). In February of 2008 there was rumor that he had cancerous skin tissue removed from above his lip. According to Dane's representative on Us Weekly, he was "mortified," he doesn't have cancer and the information was erroneous. James Pickens, Jr. was born on October 26, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio. He started acting in college at Bowling Green State University and received his BA in fine arts. He began acting at the Roundabout Theatre in New York, then continued on in 1981 with the Negro Ensemble Company in "A Soldiers Play" alongside Denzel Washington and Samuel L. Jackson. He moved to L.A. to further his career and began on soap opera "Another World" where he worked from 1986-1990 as well as many other minor roles and guest appearances on shows. In February of 2007, he did an all-star benefit reading of "the Gift of Peace" at UCLA's Freud House. the play is an appeal and fundraiser for the passage of U.S. House of Resolution 808 - which seeks fo the passage of "Department of Peace" in the U.S. government. He is married to Gina and has two children- Carl Tharps and Gavyn Picken who both have interests in show business. His son Carl is a hip hop dancer who was once featured in "Hangin with Mr. Cooper." James enjoys horseback riding and roping cattle. He is a member of the U.S. Team Roping Championship and competes in roping. He owns an American Quarter Horse named "Smokey." Sara Ramirez was born on August 31, 1975 in Mazatlan, Sinaloa. She moved to San Diego, California when she was 8 years old. She attended the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts then Julliard in New York City. She first played on Broadway, earning a Tony Award in 2005 for her performance in Monty Python's Spamalot. ABC loved her in this role and offered her a spot on any show on ABC of her choosing. She chose Grey's Anatomy because she was a fan of the show (according to an interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show). She has also received a Screen Actor's Guild Award along with the entire cast of Grey's Anatomy. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Filmography: 1.
